Michelle holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art Education and a Minor in Art History from Southeastern Massachusetts University (U-Mass Dartmouth).  As a youth, she was introduced to the sport of gymnastics at the Brockton Y.W.C.A. Later, she became a Varsity Cheerleader for Brockton High School. While attending SMU, Michelle was a member of the college gymnastics club.

Michelle is a Massachusetts certified Art Education teacher for grades K-12 and was a Junior High School Art Instructor in the Brockton School system for ten years.  While teaching art, Michelle also taught gymnastics for the Brockton Community School evening and summer Get Ready programs. In 1974, she became the Brockton High School Women’s Gymnastics Team coach for the next 10 years.  During that time, she coached numerous Suburban League Championship Teams, All-Around Champions and individual event champions. In 2017, she returned to coaching the Brockton High Schools gymnastics team and was the recipient of the Cranberry League Coach of the Year award. Currently, she is a volunteer assistant coach for her alma mater. In 2019, Michelle was inducted into the Brockton High School Hall of Fame as a citizen for her contribution of time, knowledge of sport and the use of Spectrum’s facility to promote gymnastics in the Brockton community.

In 1978, Michelle opened Spectrum, a USAG Member Club, servicing Brockton and surrounding towns for the past 45 years. Michelle has coached several USAG State and Regional Individual Champions. She currently assists Spectrum team coaches and oversees our class recreational program, pre-team and USAG competitive teams. She is a U.S.A.G. Professional Member, USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified and Meet Director Certified. Michelle’s interests include: sports psychology, nutrition, alternative medicine, the fine arts and managing the NAF Charitable Fund Inc. by providing scholarships and advocacy for students with language-based learning disabilities.

Team Head Coach

Stephen is a Bridgewater State College graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education. He was a two-year member of the Carver High Varsity Gymnastics team, where he was the 2002 Pilgrim Conference All-Around Champion and finished 10th All Around at the MIAA High School State Individual Championships. In 2002, Stephen was selected as an All-Scholastic Gymnastics Team member for the Patriot Ledger.

Stephen was also a member of Spectrum’s Men’s competitive team for seven years. He successfully competed in many Local, State, Regional and National competitions. Stephen’s accomplishments include: USAG 2000 Class III State Vault Champion, 2000 Regional Vault Champion, 1999 Class IV State Floor Exercise, Long Vault, Parallel Bars and All-Around Champion and the 1999 Class IV Regional Vault Champion.

Stephen has been the head coach for Bridgewater Raynham/West Bridgewater’s Varsity Gymnastics Team for the past 14 years. In 2017 and 2018, he led the team to the Cranberry League Championship and the MIAA State Team Championship. In 2009, 2014, 2016, 2018 & 2019, Stephen was named Cranberry League Coach of the Year. In 2016, 2018 & 2019 he was the Massachusetts High School Coach of the Year and in 2017 The Boston Globe Women’s Gymnastics Coach of the Year. Last but not least, the MIAA awarded Stephen the 2019 Girls Gymnastics Coach of the Year. Stephen is the current president of the Massachusetts High School Gymnastics Coaches Association and the MIAA gymnastics coaches’ representative and co-chairperson.

This is Stephen’s 24th year coaching Spectrum’s recreational classes, pre-team program, Xcel and Level 3 -10 USAG teams where he is instrumental in producing numerous USAG state and regional champions.  In addition, Stephen attends the Regional Congress annually. He is a USAG Professional Member, USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified, Meet Director Certified, NFHS Concussion in sports training certified and CPR/First Aid Certified.  Stephen’s interests include:  Traveling, working out, general health and fitness

Amy KoczeraAmy Koczera

Team Coach, Recreational Class Program Director

Amy attended Bridgewater State College majoring in Early Childhood Education.  She is a former member of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School Varsity Gymnastics Team.  During this time, her team won the 1998 and 1999 Pilgrim Conference, South Sectional and Massachusetts State Championship. In 1996, the Patriot Ledger named Amy “All Scholastic Gymnast” for Vault and Uneven Bars. She was also inducted into the Bridgewater Raynham High School Hall of Fame.

At Spectrum, Amy was a USAG Level 10 competitive team member where she accumulated ten years of training experience. Throughout her ten years at Spectrum, she received numerous competitive awards at local, sectional and state USAG competitions.  Amy was also invited to compete at several AAU Junior Olympic Nationals.

This is her 27th year teaching at Spectrum and her 19th year coaching Spectrums pre-team program and Level 3-10 USAG teams. Amy has been instrumental in producing numerous Spectrum state and regional champions. She is also the former Varsity Gymnastics Coach for Oliver Ames High School.

Amy attends the Regional Congress annually. She is a USAG Professional Member, USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified and CPR/First Aid certified. Amy’s interests include: Spending time with her daughter Ashlyn and son Gunnar, 3D archery shoots, word searches, hiking/camping, and taking care of her bearded dragons. 

Sydney Cabeceiras

CLASS INSTRUCTOR / PRE-TEAM & L3 – L7 TEAM COACH

Sydney is a 2015 High School graduate. She was a Spectrum Gymnastics USAG Competitive Team member for ten years and has accumulated twelve years of gymnastics training.  She is a former USAG Level 9 Spectrum gymnast.  As a competitor, Sydney was the recipient of numerous USAG local and state competition awards.  Her most notable awards from USAG State Competitions include 2009 Level 7, 6th Uneven Bars, 7th Beam and 10th All-Around. In 2013 Level 8, 9th Vault, 2nd Bars, 6th Floor, and 7 All-Around.

Sydney currently teaches recreational classes of all ages and ability levels and coaches our Shining & Shooting Stars pre-team. Additionally, she is an assistant coach for our USAG Level 3 – 9 compulsory and optional teams. Sydney is a USAG Professional Member and USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified.  This is Sydney’s 8th year teaching at Spectrum.

Sydney’s interests include: spending time with her husband Adam, family, friends & being outdoors with her rescue dog Noah

Brieanna Zine

CLASS INSTRUCTOR/ L3 – L9 TEAM COACH

Brieanna is a 2019 graduate of Bridgeport University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She was a four-year member of Bridgeport’s gymnastics team and named captain her senior year.   During her time at Bridgeport her team won the ECAC Conference Championships all four years and qualified to USAG National Collegiate Championships, placing in the top three each time.   Individually, Brieanna was a 4-time Scholar Athlete, ECAC All-Scholastic team member, ECAC All-Scholastic Vault Team Member and 2019 ECAC Coaches’ Choice of the Week for outstanding performance.

Brieanna has been the head coach for the Oliver Ames Varsity Gymnastics Team for the past 4 years. In 2021 OA won the Davenport League Hockomock championships and placed 3rd at the Hockomock league meet.

Brieanna graduated from Cardinal Spellman in 2015. She was a Spectrum USAG competitive team member for 13 years.  Brieanna was the recipient of numerous USAG local, state, and regional awards.  Her most notable awards include:

  • 2013 USAG L9 State Competition 3rd place All Around.
  • 2014 USAG L9 State Competition 2nd Vault, 2nd Beam, 2nd Floor & 1st place All Around Champion
  • 2014 USAG Regionals 1st Vault, 3rd Floor 1st All Around Champion

  • 2015 USAG L9 State Competition 2nd Vault, 3rd Floor, 3rd All Around
  • 2015 USAG Regional Competition 4th Vault, 4th Beam, 3rd Floor, 3rd All Around
  • 2015 Eastern Championships 2nd Floor 6th All Around, Member of the Region VI team 2nd Place

Brieanna is USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified.  This is her 6th year teaching at Spectrum.  Brieanna’s Interests include reading, music, gymnastics, and time with friends.

Emily Krim

CLASS INSTRUCTOR/ XCEL TEAM COACH

Emily has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado (2018) and holds a Master of Science degree in Clinicians Mental Health Counseling from Bay Path University (2021). She graduated from Oliver Ames High School in 2013 where she competed on the Women’s Varsity Gymnastics Team.  During that time, Emily was also a Spectrum USAG team member for 10 years.  She was the recipient of numerous USAG local and state competition awards. Notably the 2008 the Level 6 Uneven Bars, Balance Beam & All-Around Champion.

Emily is the former XCEL Team Head Coach at Adventures Gymnastics in Greeley, Colorado.  Currently she is our XCEL Program Team Coach.  Emily is a USAG Professional member, USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified, and Concussion certified. This is her 5th year teaching at Spectrum. Emily’s interests include: hiking, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the company of her family and friends

Suzanne Marino

SUBSTITUTE TEAM COACH / GYM MANAGER

Suzanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in Secondary Education, specializing in kinesiology, from Cambridge College. She is a former physical education teacher for the Bridgewater-Raynham School district. As a teenager, Suzanne was selected to train under Dr. Joseph Massimo at Gymnastics Junction (currently Masstars). “Doc” was the private club coach and chief psychologist for the U.S.A. Gymnastic team. Under Dr. Massimo training, Suzanne competed at the Regional and National levels.  Suzanne was a two-time Massachusetts U.S.G.F State Champion on Balance Beam and the All Around.  She was twice named a Boston Globe All Star and was inducted into the Sharon High School Hall of Fame.

Suzanne was named captain of the University of Rhode Island Gymnastics Team, where she received numerous awards and currently holds the record for floor exercise at the Atlantic 10 Championships.

While teaching at BRPS, Suzanne became a Level 10 NAWGJ judge, judging at all USAG levels as well as high school, college and national gymnastic events. She is USA Gymnastics U101 Safety & Risk Management Certified, CPR, First Aid and Concussion Certified. Suzanne’s interests include fitness, Pilates, running and spending quality time with her family
